First off, the referees were obviously biased (57 free throws vs. 15), and failed to control the aggressiveness of the game. The Chinese police (in typical fashion) just watched from the sidelines as the madness started on the court. Not only was this a game of professionals vs. college students, but the Bayi is made up of members of the people's liberation army!Michael Jaffe To top it all off, Chinese fans threw waterbottles at the GT players as they left the court, and the Chinese government promptly censored news from reaching the general public. The Hoyas are definitely not innocent here either (they were very quick to fight back and may have even thrown the first shove), but I have to give the edge to the Chinese on this one. A fight between the People's Liberation Army and a bunch of college kids?? Just absurd.

Josh Hammer no doubt, but this was a scene where "professionals" instigated a fight against college students...in a situation in which they were supposed to be gracious hosts as part of sports diplomacy (i.e. VP Biden currently is in Beijing)
Michael Jaffe don't get me wrong... i completely agree with you. A professional team (especially one with ties to the army) has to have more class than that. All I'm saying is that if GT got in a fight with some other American team, I would not be defending them.
