POU1F1 gene is a important member of the POU gene famil. The transcription factor pituitary-1(Pit-1, POU1F1 )plays a major role in pituitary development and hormone expression. Mutations in POU1F1 gene lead to a deficiency or an absence of GH, PRL, and TSH-βand can result in stunted growth. The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure of POU1F1 gene, the function of POU1F1 gene and the effect on growth performance of mammals.
